UNBS wins outstanding e-government Award

Kampala, 12th June, 2019 – Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) has won the e-government Award for Outstanding interactive web portal. The Awards were organized by the National Information Technology Authority (NITA), the government agency that coordinates Information Technology services, to recognize government ministries, departments and agencies that have excelled in promoting the use of electronic services as part of the e-government strategy.
Other agencies nominated in this category included Parliament of Uganda, Civil Aviation Authority, Uganda Police Force, and Ministry of Information, Communication Technology and National Guidance.
Other winners included:
- Outstanding connected web portal: Makerere University
- Outstanding informative web portal: Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions
- Outstanding web portal for local government: Mbarara District Local government
- Outstanding Economic, Infrastructure and Competitiveness e-service: Uganda National Roads Authority E-Transit Ladder)
- Outstanding eService in Tourism and Trade Sector: Uganda Investment Authority (electronic one stop center portal - e-Biz)
- Outstanding e-service in the Education Sector: Uganda National Examinations Board (eRegistration)
- Outstanding Sector e-Service in the Health sector: National Medical Store (Smart Care)
- Outstanding Sector e-Service Award in the Social Sector: Ministry of Gender, Labour, and Social Development (External Employment Information System)
- Outstanding Sector e-Service in the Accountability and Governance sector: Ministry of Finance, Planning and Economic Development (Integrated Financial Management System)
- Outstanding Sector e-Service in Public Administration and Management sector: Ministry of Local Government (ELogRev)
- Outstanding Sector e-Service in the Justice Law and Order sector; Uganda Registration Services Bureau (Business Registration system)
- Best Exhibitor at e-Government Expo: Uganda Revenue Authority
- Government Entity of the Year: National Social Security Fund (NSSF Go)
- Citizen Choice Award: Uganda Revenue Authority (eTax)
