Food labels may tell consumers about:

  • the qualities of a product
  • the appropriate use of the product
  • the benefits of the product
  • possible risks from the product
  • where and how a product is produced

Labels may influence the quality of food products and facilitate fairness in the market.

Who is US EAS 38:2013?

This Uganda standard applies to the labelling of all prepackaged foods to be offered as such to the consumer or for catering purposes and to certain aspects relating to the presentation thereof.
