The Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) together with the Uganda Registration Services Bureau (URSB) met on Monday to discuss ways of strengthening collaboration between the two parties to better service delivery.
During the meeting, the Ag. UNBS Executive Director, Mr. David Livingstone Ebiru together with the URSB Registrar General, Ms. Mercy K.Kainobwisho resolved to enhance collaboration in areas of Stakeholder engagements/sensitizations, trainings and enforcement activities.
While the Uganda National Bureau of Standards (UNBS) assures quality of locally manufactured products to enhance the competitiveness of exports in regional and international markets through product certification, business registration with URSB is a prerequisite for all entities applying for UNBS certification.
The two institutions; UNBS which is responsible for substandard products and URSB which is responsible for counterfeits embarked on operationalizing their Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) in a bid to promote fair trade and precision in industry through reliable measurement systems.
