Timothy Sekandi is the Manager Internal Audit (MIA), responsible for evaluating the adequacy and effectiveness of governance, risk management and control processes, including providing competent advice on areas for improvement that enhance and protect the value of the Bureau.
Timothy was appointed to the position of Manager Internal Audit in 2018. Prior to this appointment, He was the Principal Internal Auditor (2017) and Senior Internal Auditor (2015-2017) at UNBS. Timothy joined UNBS in 2015 as the Senior Internal Auditor. He previously worked with Sejjaaka, Kaawaase and Co., Certified Public Accountants as the Audit Manager with an extended responsibility of Quality Control Officer.
Timothy has over nineteen (19) years of progressive work experience performing and managing assignments in areas of audit and assurance, accounting and financial reporting, risk and advisory, and finance. He has also effectively engaged with senior stakeholders including Board of Director members.
Timothy is a Certified Public Accountant of Uganda; a Chartered Certified Accountant of the United Kingdom; a Certified ISO 31000 Risk Management Professional; an ISO 9001:2015 Lead Implementer Quality Management Systems; and a Member of the Institute of Internal Auditors Uganda. He holds a Master of Business Administration in Finance and a Bachelor of Business Administration in Accounting degrees from Makerere University.
